Healthy Aging 60+
A complete medical reassessment for people over 60 who are experiencing physical decline, have multiple diagnoses or medications, and want their health reviewed comprehensively. Not a wellness concept, but geriatrics, internal medicine, pharmacology and lifestyle in one pathway.
Evidence status: Strong foundation in geriatrics and medication optimisationWhat is the medical problem?
In older patients, diagnoses and medications often accumulate. One medicine is started for one problem, a second is used to treat a side effect, while underlying factors such as sleep apnoea, secondary hypertension, sarcopenia, nutritional problems or interactions may receive insufficient attention.
What could a treatment pathway look like?
Before departure, the complete medical file is assembled: diagnoses, laboratory results, imaging, specialist letters, medications and supplements. In China, the treatment plan is effectively reviewed again from the beginning. For every medicine, the indication, necessity, dose, duration, interactions, side effects, kidney and liver burden and possible alternatives are assessed. This is followed by one integrated long-term plan.
What do we know about effectiveness?
Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment, appropriate management of cardiovascular risk factors, strength training, nutrition, sleep care and medication review are well-supported components of geriatric care. The value of the China pathway lies mainly in combining and intensively delivering these elements, not in unproven anti-ageing claims.
Important selection considerations
Medication should never be stopped on the patient’s own initiative. The programme does not promise life extension or ‘rejuvenation’. The goal is to identify treatable causes, reduce medication burden where medically appropriate, and preserve function and independence for as long as possible.
Medical selection before travel
The options described are not a guarantee of treatment. Availability and suitability depend on diagnosis, indication, evidence level, individual risks and assessment by the treating medical team. Experimental care is identified as such.
Would you like to know whether a pathway could be medically appropriate?
A treatment journey always begins with an assessment of the diagnosis, medical history, previous treatments, medication, risks and the specific treatment objective.
